In search of the New River

The New River runs hidden beneath the streets of Islington. Students from New River College Medical school set out with artist Laura Copsey and animator Simon Hamlyn to find it.

The students explored maps and documents from local archives. Then they walked the path of the river, looking for clues and talking to people along the way. Their film uses experimental animation, collage and printmaking to trace their journey.
