Create a unique and meaningful card design in lino and collagraph formats

Get into the festive spirit early with our bespoke card-making workshop on Saturday 14 November, ready to send to your friends and family with brilliant illustrator Jhinuk Sarkar.

With a morning and afternoon session to choose from, you’ll have the chance to get creative, experiment with ideas and make your own meaningful festive cards to share with your close ones.

In the first part of the workshop, you will be guided by our expert Jhinuk to cut a simple lino design and make a collagraph plate for printing.Collagraphy involve gluing materials to cardboard to form a plate to ink onto paper.

The second half of the workshop will see you testing out effective printmaking techniques to learn ways you can vary one design. You will test different plates by printing your designs and learning how you can create a small batch of unique handprinted greeting cards at home. Some pre-cut lino designs and coloured tissue papers will be available for printing so you can experiment with layering designs onto one print.

At the end of the session, you can take your creations home plus blank cards to recreate more of your own designs on at home, inspired with a range of simple printmaking ideas to make original illustrated greeting cards.
